The I Aquatlo Merelim São Paio and III Aquatlo Jovem Merelim São Paio take place on August 30, 2025, in Braga, Portugal. These aquathlon events combine swimming and running along the scenic Rio Cávado, featuring races for both adults and youth athletes. The adult competition is held in sprint format and includes the Northern Absolute and Individual Championships. The youth event, part of the Northern Youth Championship, offers age-appropriate distances for children born between 2008 and 2018. Both races are organized by the local parish union with technical support from the Portuguese Triathlon Federation. Athletes will swim in the Cávado River and run along its dirt riverbank trail, with transition and finish areas set near Praia Fluvial de Merelim São Paio.
