Noturna “Christmas in the Mountains” – 4th Edition!

As part of the Christmas initiatives promoted by the Parish of Cortes do Meio, the 3rd edition of the “Christmas in the Mountains” Night Run will take to the streets on December 26.

This is a popular night race, mostly on urban terrain, passing through the heart of the village of Cortes do Meio, this time starting in the neighbouring village of Cortes de Baixo.

The event will once again have a charitable component, and we challenge all participants to bring an item to donate when collecting their race bibs. All items gathered will later be delivered to a local institution.

The São Silvestre de Beja is a running event scheduled for Friday, December 26, 2025, at 7:00 PM in Rua Gomes Palma, Beja. It features several race categories including the official 10 km race, a Mini São Silvestre of 6.6 km, a 5 km walk, and multiple youth races ranging from 300 m to 2500 m, making it accessible to participants of all ages and skill levels.

This event is open to all runners without the need for a license, encouraging community participation and sportsmanship in a festive atmosphere. The race takes place in the city of Beja, offering runners a chance to experience the local urban landscape during an evening event, which adds a unique charm to the competition.

The São Silvestre de Beja also includes free youth races, promoting sports among young athletes, and a walking event to accommodate those who prefer a less competitive but active experience. The race fosters a family-friendly environment with multiple distance options to accommodate different abilities and interests.

The 11th Corrida São Silvestre da Golegã and the 8th Caminhada will take place on December 26, 2025, starting at 21:00 in the Vila da Golegã, Portugal. It is a running event featuring a 10 km race and a 5 km walk, both conducted through the streets of the historic town.

The race is open to all individuals in good health, with no requirement of a license. The event has a festive atmosphere with public order forces and volunteers supporting the participants, making it a safe and community-oriented experience.

Besides the competitive race, the event also includes a walking activity, making it suitable for a broad range of participants, from serious runners to casual walkers, and fostering a family-friendly environment.

The 41st São Silvestre de Avis is a road running race scheduled for December 27, 2025, in Avis, Portugal. It features multiple distances tailored for a wide range of age groups starting from 75 meters for the youngest children up to 9600 meters for seniors and veterans, including a special 1800 meter race for adapted sports.

This event welcomes all athletes from European Union countries, both federated and non-federated, and invited international participants. It is part of the A.A.D.P. running circuit, fostering competitive spirit and team participation with classifications by age, gender, and collective team scoring.

The race provides a festive and inclusive atmosphere with races for children, youth, adults, and adapted sports categories, alongside a 5 km walking event. It offers a unique community sporting experience in Avis with medals and trophies awarded to top performers and teams.
