The Maratona BTT da Póvoa 2025 is an open amateur mountain bike race taking place on October 5, 2025, in Póvoa de Varzim, Portugal. Organized by Bikeservice, the event offers two competitive distances: 70 km (Maratona) and 45 km (Meia Maratona). Participation is open to riders aged 17 and over, with juniors (17–18 years) required to race the shorter distance. Both routes follow mixed surfaces including roads and trails open to traffic, requiring compliance with the Portuguese Cycling Federation regulations and the Highway Code. The start and finish are located in Póvoa de Varzim, with riders placed in start boxes according to payment order. The event features mechanical and medical support, feed zones, and chip timing, and concludes with a podium ceremony recognizing the top overall and category finishers, as well as the largest team.
The VII Tour Gaeiras is a non-competitive cycling event designed for all cycling enthusiasts. Taking place on October 5, 2025, in Gaeiras (Óbidos, Portugal), this tour invites participants to ride at their own pace over a scenic 85 km course. Rather than a race, it’s a leisure, cultural, and touristic experience intended for road, mountain, or tandem bicycles (motorized vehicles are not allowed). The route begins and ends at the village of Gaeiras with rider concentration starting at 7:30 AM.
Open to male and female cyclists of all levels, the event also includes a timed segment (approx. 4 km) known as the José António Vieira Stage, offering podium awards by category. While not a race, this segment adds an element of competitive excitement for those who want it. The event is limited to 250 participants.

With a registration fee of €22 per person (including companions), limited to confirmed participants, it’s a warm, community-driven outing. The event promotes active inclusion and local motorized and non-motorized exploration through Machede’s surroundings.
