On September 6, 2025, the charming village of Alvelos in Barcelos hosts the 7th edition of the Grande Prémio de Atletismo Águias de Alvelos — a local classic embedded in the Nossa Senhora das Dores festivities. Open to all runners aged 16 and up, the 8 km road race offers a festive, welcoming environment ideal for both competitive athletes and casual runners.
Younger athletes aren’t left out either — the Kids Race includes two age-specific distances: 1.5 km for ages 6–10 and 3 km for ages 11–15. With institutional support and vibrant local participation, this event promises a great blend of competition and community.

The Penacova Trail do Centro 2025 will take place on September 6 and 7, 2025, in Penacova, Portugal. The event offers trail running experiences across scenic and challenging routes in central Portugal, designed for athletes of all levels — from elite trail runners to casual hikers.

The 3rd edition of Côdeas Trail takes place on September 6, 2025, in Casal dos Claros and Coucinheira, Leiria. Organized by Unidos Runners with the support of G.D.R.C. Unidos, this trail event is part of the ADAL – Derovo – Fullprotein Circuit and serves as the District Sprint Trail Championship.
It includes a challenging 19 km Trail Sprint and a beginner-friendly 10 km Mini Trail, as well as a 10 km non-competitive walk and a kids’ race with fun distances for younger athletes. The route combines technical trails, rural paths, and local charm, with strong emphasis on safety, environmental respect, and community participation.

The STE – Caravela Seguros Sintra Trail X’Treme returns to the breathtaking Serra de Sintra on 7 September 2025, offering an unforgettable trail experience through historic villages, lush forests, and hidden private estates rarely accessible to the public. Athletes can choose from 33 km (Trail Longo), 23 km (Trail Curto), or 13 km (Trail Curto Rápido), plus a scenic 8 km Walk and a Kids Trail for young runners.
Recognized by ITRA as a qualifying race (33 km – 2 points; 23 km – 1 point), the event combines technical challenges with unique natural beauty. The atmosphere blends elite competition with a community spirit, supported by Sintra’s cultural heritage and a festive race village. Whether a seasoned trail runner or a first-time adventurer, STE offers the perfect mix of competition, discovery, and camaraderie. -
Ver eventoTrail do Sor
The XII Trail do Sor returns on 7 September 2025 in Ponte de Sor, Portalegre, offering a rich mix of natural trails along the Sor River and surrounding valleys. Organized by CATRP with local support, the event features a wide range of distances: Long Trail (31 km), Short Trail (15 km), Junior Trail (4 km & 2 km), and a challenging Mini-Trail/Walk (10 km).
Part of the ATRP’s National Trail Circuit (series 150 & 100) and AADP’s district trail circuits, it welcomes both amateur and club athletes aged 7 and up. Courses vary in difficulty, with marked technical paths, solid elevation gain, and beautiful Alentejo scenery.
