The Corrida do Dragão returns to the city of Porto on October 12, 2025! Organized by GlobalSport with support from FC Porto and local authorities, this iconic road race invites runners and walkers to experience a festive atmosphere starting and finishing at the Estádio do Dragão.
There are two events: a 10km run for athletes born in 2007 or earlier, and a 5km walk open to all ages. With a scenic urban course, supportive crowd, and great post-race services, it’s an event that brings together sport, community, and fun in one unforgettable day.
The Trail do Bom Despacho returns for its 2nd edition on October 19, 2025, in São Pedro de Penaferrim, Sintra. Organized by ATEPS – Associação Cultural e Recreativa, this trail running event combines athletic challenge with the natural and historical beauty of the Bom Despacho area.

The I Corrida das Cegonhas takes place on October 12, 2025, in Santo Estêvão (Benavente). The event features a 13.5 km competitive race and a 7.5 km walk, offering options for both seasoned athletes and recreational participants.
Starting near the Santo Estêvão Parish Council building, the route combines asphalt and dirt tracks and crosses scenic Ribatejo landscapes. The race promotes healthy living, environmental responsibility, and community celebration.
The 13.5 km race begins at 09:30, followed by the 7.5 km walk at 09:45. The event includes warm-up sessions, refreshments, and a closing award ceremony. It is limited to 1,000 participants.
The Trail Mosteiro de Arnoso 2025 takes place on October 12, 2025, in Arnoso Santa Eulália, Vila Nova de Famalicão, as the ninth race of the Vila Nova de Famalicão Municipal Trail Championship. Organized by Associação QuebraRitmo, the event offers four different formats to suit all levels: a 20 km Long Trail with 900 m of elevation gain, a 12 km Short Trail with 500 m of elevation gain, an 8 km Walk, and Kids Runs of 400 m and 800 m.
Set in a charming rural environment, the course winds through scenic trails, farmlands, and valleys, showcasing the beauty of the local landscape. The event is designed to appeal both to competitive trail runners and to those who simply want to enjoy a day outdoors, with the walk and kids races creating a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere.
Beyond the competition, the Trail Mosteiro de Arnoso celebrates community spirit, promoting sport, leisure, and cultural tourism. Participants can expect well-marked routes, excellent organization, and the warmth of local hospitality, making it an unmissable date on the regional trail running calendar.
The IV Trail Vicentino Noturno by Oliveira Pneus takes place on October 18, 2025, across the municipalities of Ponta Delgada and Ribeira Grande, on São Miguel Island (Azores). This night trail running event features three distances:
Trail Long: approx. 32 km
Trail Sprint: approx. 22 km
Walk: approx. 12 km
Each race begins at a different starting point (Ajuda da Bretanha, Santa Bárbara, and Poços de São Vicente Ferreira) and all finish at the Sports Pavilion of São Vicente Ferreira.
The event is open to athletes of all levels, both licensed and non-licensed. Organized by GDSVF (Grupo Desportivo de São Vicente Ferreira), the event is supported by the Municipality of Ponta Delgada and other local partners.
This is the 4th edition of the event and continues to grow in participation and community engagement.
The first edition of the SPT Sunset Trail will take place on October 18, 2025, in Ventosa, Alenquer, starting at 18:40. This trail running event offers a scenic 18 km race through the stunning Serra Galega region, with a parallel non-competitive 10 km walk also available.
Organized by SPT Sabores do Paço Trail Zatopeques and supported by the Municipality of Alenquer and other partners, the race promotes active lifestyles and showcases the region’s technical trails, natural landscapes, and cultural charm.
Both routes are circular and start/finish at the SPT headquarters (former primary school). Participants can expect mid-level difficulty, with a mix of forest paths, wide trails, and technical terrain.
The 1st edition of the “Só Para Bravos” Challenge takes place on October 18, 2025, at Parque Verde do Bonito in Entroncamento. This unique test is designed exclusively for firefighters and forest protection professionals, who will run a 1.5km course while wearing full wildfire protective gear (EPI Florestal).
Participants must demonstrate speed, technique, and resilience — just like in real rural firefighting conditions. Open only to qualified personnel, this challenge honors the bravery and strength of those who protect our forests.
The V Trail e Caminhada “Rota da Maçã de Montanha” will take place on October 18, 2025, in Armamar, Portugal. The event includes three distances: a 20 km trail, a 12 km short trail, and an 8 km walk. Designed to highlight the region’s scenic apple-growing landscapes, the race is open to participants of all levels and nationalities. Both trail distances include chip timing and age group rankings, while the walk is a non-competitive, family-friendly option. The courses cover rural paths, vineyard slopes, and municipal roads, with moderate to high technical difficulty. All events start and finish in front of the Armamar Town Hall, with shower access available at the municipal indoor pool. The event fosters a festive atmosphere, featuring a warm-up session, prize giving, and an optional post-race dinner.
The Estrela Road Challenge returns to the stunning Serra da Estrela mountains on October 18–19, 2025, offering a unique and challenging road running experience through Portugal’s highest mountain range. With breathtaking landscapes and a true mountain environment, this event promotes environmental sustainability, solidarity, and athletic ethics.
Participants can choose from three events:
Uphill (21 km) – A grueling climb with 1600 m of elevation gain finishing at the Torre.
Uphill + Downhill (42 km) – Full marathon distance with 3200 m total elevation change.
Relay Team (42 km) – Same marathon course in teams of up to 3 athletes.

The Meia Maratona de Leiria 2025 will take place on October 19, 2025, offering four events for runners and walkers of all ages. The flagship 21.097 km half marathon is certified by both the Portuguese Athletics Federation (FPA) and World Athletics, ensuring an official and accurate course. The program also includes a 10 km race, a 5 km walk, and a Kids Race, making it a truly inclusive event for competitive athletes, casual runners, and families alike.
