The 1st Maré Alta Sunset Trail de Mansores takes place on August 30, 2025, in Mansores, Arouca, offering a breathtaking trail running experience at sunset. This unique race reopens ancient paths untouched for over 40 years, leading runners through pristine landscapes marked by streams, native vegetation, and historic landmarks. Participants will pass by the iconic “Moinhos da Barrosa” and other traditional windmills, immersing themselves in the cultural and natural heritage of the region. The event features a festive, community atmosphere and is open to both seasoned trail runners and nature-loving walkers.

The 1st Terrantêz Trail Team Endurance Race will take place on August 30, 2025, in Minde, within the scenic Natural Park of Serra de Aire e Candeeiros. Organized by the Terrantêz Trail Team (Natura Minde section of Casa do Povo de Minde), the event features a 3-hour endurance format on a 3.5 km loop through mixed terrain — asphalt, dirt, and trails — in the Minde/Mira de Aire polje. Open to solo runners and mixed, male or female duos, the race emphasizes consistency and stamina, with rankings based on the number of laps completed in the 3-hour limit. A festive, inclusive atmosphere is guaranteed, with post-race dinner and award ceremonies taking place at Pavilhão Ana Sonça. The event welcomes athletes 16 and older and offers both general and age group classifications.

The 10th edition of the Vertical Kilometer of Câmara de Lobos will take place on August 30, 2025, in Curral das Freiras, Madeira. This demanding skyrunning race features a steep 2.8 km course with 1,000 meters of positive elevation gain, from Colmeal (630 m) to Pico Grande (1,630 m). Part of multiple competitive series — including the National Skyrunning Championship, National Youth and Club Championships, Madeira Regional Skyrunning Cup, and the Skyrunner® Portugal Series — this event attracts both elite and amateur vertical specialists. Open to athletes aged 15 and over, the race offers a unique challenge through rugged, high-altitude mountain terrain. Individual starts every 60 seconds provide a personal battle against gravity. With a festive mountain atmosphere and sweeping views, this is one of the most iconic vertical kilometers in Portugal.

The first edition of the Eco Run Cabeço de Vide – Fronteira will take place on August 30, 2025, combining night racing, nature, and history. The event is organized by Escola de Atletismo PTG-Associação, Atlético Clube Fronteirense, and the Municipality of Fronteira, with technical support from AADP. Participants can choose from a competitive 14.5 km or 10 km race, or a non-competitive 10 km walk. The longer race starts near the Cabeço de Vide train station and finishes near the Batalha dos Atoleiros Interpretive Center, a symbolic historic landmark. Open to all age categories — from young Benjamins to Veterans 65+ — the Eco Run offers both urban and dirt terrain and is designed to promote healthy living and local heritage. Prizes include trophies, age group medals, and cash awards for top finishers and teams.
