13ª Edição BTT “Desenferruja Canelas”

<p>The XIV Maratona BTT – Cidade de Faro returns on September 28, 2025, bringing the vibrant cycling spirit of the Algarve to the town of Estoi. More than just a race, it is part of the Faro Ativo program, combining sport, culture, and community in a unique event that gathers MTB enthusiasts from all over the region.</p> <p>Participants will challenge themselves on two routes: the 55 km Marathon, with around 900 meters of elevation gain, designed for experienced riders looking for a demanding and competitive challenge, and the 35 km Half-Marathon, with 580 meters of elevation gain, ideal for those who prefer a shorter yet equally exciting course. Both distances also feature an E-Bike category, ensuring inclusivity and wider participation.</p> <p>The event also celebrates the legacy of cycling in Faro with the João da Roda Trophy, a team classification honoring one of the pioneers of the sport in the region. With marked trails running through rural paths, municipal roads, and natural landscapes across Faro, Olhão, and São Brás de Alportel, athletes can expect not only a physical challenge but also breathtaking views of the Algarve’s countryside. Add in strong community spirit, post-race camaraderie, and the famous bifana sandwich at the finish line, and the Maratona BTT – Cidade de Faro guarantees an unforgettable BTT experience.</p>

<p>On September 28, 2025, the parish of Gême (Vila Verde, Braga) hosts the 2nd edition of the Subida à Santa Engrácia em Bicicleta — a steep and intense hill climb challenge for cycling enthusiasts. Athletes will tackle a short but brutal 900-meter course with an average incline of 16% and gradients peaking at 20%. The race is open to all cyclists aged 16 and over, competing in an individual time trial format. The top 10 of each category from the qualifier advance to a final heat where the winners will be decided. This unique event combines adrenaline, raw power, and a festive local atmosphere.</p>

<p>The 3rd RAID BTT Pedro Loureiro is a rural cycling event organized by the Associação de Cicloturismo e BTT do Fojo, paying tribute to their late founder Pedro Loureiro. This off-road event will take place on September 28, 2025, in Rossio ao Sul do Tejo (Aquapolis – South Bank), Abrantes, with the race starting at 9:00 AM. Riders can choose between a competitive 40km race or a 15km guided leisure ride.</p>
