Event summary

The Avenidas Novas Run 2025 will take place on September 14, 2025, in the heart of Lisbon, starting and finishing at Parque Eduardo VII. Organized by the Avenidas Novas Parish Council with technical management from WeRun, this urban running event is designed to promote physical activity, healthy lifestyles, and community spirit.

The program features three main events catering to all ages and abilities: a 10 km competitive race for runners aiming for performance, a 5 km non-competitive walk for those looking to enjoy the city at a gentler pace, and a Kids Race that kicks off the day with energy and enthusiasm. The flat asphalt course winds through Lisbon’s Avenidas Novas area, offering scenic views, hydration stations, and medical support along the way.

Participants can expect a festive atmosphere with music, cheering supporters, and post-race celebrations. All finishers will receive a technical t-shirt, commemorative medal, and athlete kit, along with refreshments at the finish line. With a participant limit of 1,500 athletes, early registration is encouraged to secure a spot in one of Lisbon’s most vibrant and community-focused running events of the year.

Age categories/divisions: Men – M Sub-23 (16–22), Seniors (23–39), M40 (40–44), M45 (45–49), M50 (50–54), M55 (55–59), M60 (60–64), M65+ (65+); Women – F Sub-23 (16–22), Seniors (23–39), F40 (40–44), F45 (45–49), F50 (50–54), F55 (55–59), F60 (60–64), F65+ (65+).

Start/finish locations: Parque Eduardo VII – Alameda Cardeal Cerejeira, Lisbon.

Start times: 09:00 – Kids’ Race; 09:45 – 10 km race; 10:00 – 5 km walk.

Cut-off time: 2 hours (all events).

Bib pick-up: Sept 13 (12:00–17:00) at Piscina das Avenidas Novas – Rua Cardeal Mercier, Lisbon; Sept 14 (07:30–08:30) at start area for athletes coming from outside Lisbon.

Participant limit: 1,500 (total).

Registration deadline: Sept 8, 2025.

Surface type: flat urban asphalt roads.

Course format: looped city course.

Timing method: chip timing (10 km only); Kids’ Race and Walk are non-timed.

Aid stations: water at 5 km and finish line; toilets at start/finish area.

Parking: public parking available near the venue; no shuttle service.

Prizes: top 3 men and women overall in the 10 km receive trophies; top 3 in each age category receive trophies; participation medals for Kids’ Race and Walk.
