Event summary

The Pombal Oeste – 8th Night Trail takes place on October 4, 2025, in Pombal, Portugal, organized by the União de Freguesias de Guia, Ilha e Mata Mourisca in partnership with the Bombeiros Voluntários de Pombal and the Municipality of Pombal. This night trail event offers three distances: the Trail Sprint (20 km), Mini-Trail (13 km), and a non-competitive Walk (12 km), attracting runners and walkers of all levels.

The courses take participants through rural trails and paths connecting the localities of Ilha, Mata Mourisca, and Guia, with elevation gains of approximately 500 m (Trail Sprint) and 250 m (Mini-Trail). The event has a strong community spirit, with all entry fees donated to the Bombeiros Voluntários de Pombal for the purchase of protective equipment.

With a friendly yet competitive atmosphere, full night-race setup, and support from medical teams, firefighters, and volunteers, this race is both a physical challenge and a celebration of local solidarity.

Start/finish locations: Quartel da 5ª Companhia dos Bombeiros Voluntários de Pombal, Guia (39°56’30.4″N 8°46’18.5″W).

Walk (12 km) – 20:00

Cut-off times: 6 hours after start.

Bib pick-up:
Oct 4, 2025 – 11:00–19:00 at the Quartel da 5ª Companhia dos Bombeiros Voluntários de Pombal, Guia.

Participants limit: 600 (combined for all distances).

Registration deadline: Oct 2, 2025.

Surface types: Trails, rural paths, mixed terrain.

Course format: Looped night trail.

Timing method: Chip timing (Trail Sprint & Mini-Trail).

Toilets and aid station placement: Aid station locations to be announced. Toilets available near start/finish.

Parking and shuttle details: Parking near start/finish and at Zona Desportiva da Guia / Feira dos Dez (reserved for participants).

Prizes: Trophies for top 3 overall and top 3 per category (M/F) in Trail Sprint & Mini-Trail; team prizes for top 3 male and female teams (Trail Sprint & Mini-Trail).
