Event summary
The Open Race of the Portuguese Cup XCM Lagos will take place on September 21, 2025, in Bensafrim, Lagos (Faro, Portugal). Organized by the Algarve Cycling Association with the support of the Municipality of Lagos and Grupo Popular das Portelas, this event is a competitive amateur mountain bike marathon open to both federated and non-federated athletes.
The course spans 40 km, combining rural and natural tracks with a challenging but accessible profile. Riders will compete under official Portuguese Cycling Federation regulations, with individual classifications by time and order of arrival. The race has a 3h30 cut-off.

Open to men and women, federated (CPT – Cycling for All) and non-federated, aged 17+. Categories:
Men: ≥17, ≥19, ≥29, ≥39, ≥49, ≥59
Women: ≥17, ≥19, ≥29, ≥39
Start/finish location: Bensafrim village, Lagos, Faro.
Start time: September 21, 2025 – 09:00.
Cut-off time: 3h30 (finish by 11:50).
Bib pick-up:

September 21, 2025 – 07:00–08:15 (secretariat)
Participant limit: 100 athletes + up to 50 invited entries.
Registration deadline: September 18, 2025 (23:59) or until sold out.
Surface type: MTB terrain – natural and rural tracks.
Course format: Loop, ~40 km.
Timing method: Chip timing (individual classification by time and arrival order).
Aid stations: Supplies along the course + finish.
Prizes: Top 3 male and female finishers per category; other prizes and gifts may be awarded.
