The 19th Volta a Portugal de Juniores will take place from August 28 to 31, 2025, bringing together the strongest U19 cycling teams from across the country. Considered one of the most prestigious events on the Portuguese junior calendar, this four-day stage race serves as a proving ground for the next generation of cycling champions.

Age categories/divisions: Juniors (U19) – licensed male athletes born in 2007–2008 (teams of 5–7 riders).

Start/finish locations: Multi-stage event across Portugal. Opening stage and Secretariat in Covilhã (exact venue TBC).

Start times: August 28–31, 2025 – daily stage starts (morning). Includes road stages and 1 individual time trial.

Cut-off time: Defined by the Jury of Commissaires according to each stage profile.

Bib pick-up / Secretariat: August 28, 2025 – morning at Covilhã (before directors’ meeting & technical briefing).

Participant limit: Teams of 5–7 riders; peloton limited per UCI/Federação Portuguesa de Ciclismo rules.

Registration deadline: As per national calendar (prior confirmation with FPC).

Surface type: Asphalt roads (urban + rural).

Course format: Multi-stage race – road stages + ITT.

Timing method: Electronic chip timing; official classification by Federação Portuguesa de Ciclismo.

Aid stations: Neutral support by Shimano (2 assistance cars). Additional feeding zones per stage regulations.

Drop bag: Not available (team cars provide logistics).

    Circuito Nafarros

    On August 23, 2025, at 15:00, the town of Nafarros (Sintra) will host the 62nd edition of its historic road cycling race, the Circuito de Nafarros. Organized by UDC Nafarros in partnership with Benepaint and with the technical oversight of the Associação de Ciclismo de Lisboa, this official federated race (FPC) is open to Elite 1.12 and 1.13 riders and U23 athletes, with limited wildcards available for invited teams outside these categories. The race consists of 8 laps of a 9.3 km circuit, totaling 74.5 km of tight, technical, and scenic competition in the heart of Nafarros. Known for its tradition and strong local support, the Circuito de Nafarros also features special jerseys for general classification, mountain, sprint, and fastest lap – all contributing to a vibrant and competitive race atmosphere at the height of summer.
