The Matosinhos Urban Race 2025 takes place on August 30, 2025, in the heart of Matosinhos, Portugal, offering a unique 3-hour urban cycling challenge on a closed-loop course of approximately 3.5 km. Participants will aim to complete as many laps as possible within the designated time. This non-competitive cycling event is open to all riders — licensed or not — aged 16 and above. Whether solo, in pairs, or in teams of three, cyclists ride at their own pace, while lap times are recorded electronically. Set in a vibrant urban environment — including Matosinhos’ historical center, plazas, and gardens — the race delivers a festive night-time experience, blending city lights, sportsmanship, and community energy. Held as part of the traditional festivities in Alfafar, the Circuito de Alfafar is an exciting road cycling race hosted by the Comissão de Festas de N. Sr.ª das Neves in partnership with the Centro Ciclista do Centro and Associação de Ciclismo da Beira Litoral. This is a fast-paced criterium-style event on a short urban circuit in Alfafar, offering an electrifying atmosphere and a compact, spectator-friendly format. With 60 laps on a 745-meter circuit, athletes compete for speed, strategy, and prize money across elite, U23, and master categories.
