Event summary

The Estrela Road Challenge returns to the stunning Serra da Estrela mountains on October 18–19, 2025, offering a unique and challenging road running experience through Portugal’s highest mountain range. With breathtaking landscapes and a true mountain environment, this event promotes environmental sustainability, solidarity, and athletic ethics.

Participants can choose from three events:

Uphill (21 km) – A grueling climb with 1600 m of elevation gain finishing at the Torre.

Uphill + Downhill (42 km) – Full marathon distance with 3200 m total elevation change.

Relay Team (42 km) – Same marathon course in teams of up to 3 athletes.

Open to runners aged 18 and older, the Estrela Road Challenge fosters a spirit of resilience, camaraderie, and connection to nature. This is not just a race — it’s a journey through the heart of the Serra.

    The Meia Maratona do Algarve / Mamamaratona is one of the Algarve’s most symbolic running events, combining sport, health awareness, and community spirit. Taking place in the beautiful coastal town of Quarteira on October 19, 2025, the event offers two competitive distances: a 21.1 km FPA-certified half marathon and a 10.5 km mini marathon.   • 26ª MEIA MARATONA RIBEIRINHA MOITA

    26ª MEIA MARATONA RIBEIRINHA MOITA

    The 25th Ribeirinha Half Marathon and the 22nd Ribeirinha Mini/Walk will be held on October 20, 2024, starting at 09:30. Organized by the Moita City Council and several local athletic clubs, the event features a competitive half marathon (21.097 km, officially certified by the Portuguese Athletics Federation) and a non-competitive mini/walk (~7 km). The route starts at Marginal da Moita and finishes at Praça da República, Moita, with a 3-hour maximum duration. Age divisions are available for seniors and veteran categories (M/F40 through M/F60), with awards for the top overall finishers, age-group winners, and the 10 best teams. The event offers cash prizes for top positions in each category and includes amenities such as multiple aid stations and medical support. Participation is capped at 600 athletes for each distance.

    Corrida do Farol

    The Corrida do Farol 2025 will take place on October 19, 2025, in Praia da Barra, Gafanha da Nazaré. The event features two options: an 8.5 km competitive run and a 4.5 km recreational walk, both starting and finishing near the iconic Barra Lighthouse. The race offers a scenic mix of asphalt and sand surfaces, creating a dynamic and unique coastal challenge. Participation in the run is open to athletes aged 18 and over, with veteran age divisions, while the walk welcomes participants of all ages, promoting both competition and community spirit. The 8.5 km run will be chip-timed and include awards for individual categories. The walk, on the other hand, is designed as a relaxed, non-competitive experience. Both runners and walkers will enjoy the vibrant seaside atmosphere, safety support along the course, and refreshments at designated points. All participants will receive a medal, t-shirt, and athlete kit, making it an engaging and memorable experience for athletes, friends, and families alike.

  • 1º Trail Hiper-Activo

    1º Trail Hiper-Activo

    The I Trail Hiper-Activo takes place on October 19, 2025, in Póvoa da Galega, a village in the parish of Milharado, Mafra. Organized by Associação Hiper-Activo and Trilho Perdido, the event includes three modalities: a Trail K17+ (approx. 17 km), a Mini Trail K10+ (approx. 10 km), and a 10 km Walk. The race follows scenic natural trails through forests, village paths, and urban green zones, with a mix of technical and runnable terrain. Open to athletes aged 18 and up, the competitive trails are chip-timed and include age-based categories from Sub-23 to Masters 60+. Participants will experience a looped course with moderate elevation and well-marked signage. The start and finish take place at Parque Urbano da Póvoa da Galega, with facilities available at the adjacent school. This event promotes healthy living, environmental awareness (BYO cup), and community participation.
