Event summary
The Casconha Triathlon is an event that will take place on September 14, 2025, at Praia das Rocas, in Castanheira de Pera. The event is organized by Prazilândia, Turismo e Ambiente Empresa Municipal, and the Municipality of Castanheira de Pera, with the technical support of the Portuguese Triathlon Federation (FTP).
The event is comprised of three different races: the National Youth Championship (6th stage), the Absolute Litoral e Interior Centro Championship, and an Open Race. The National Youth Championship and the Absolute Litoral e Interior Centro Championship are for licensed athletes, while the Open Race is available for licensed athletes from other regions and for non-licensed athletes ("1 Day License"). The courses for the cycling and running segments are on asphalt with some elevation changes.
The race is open to all interested athletes. The National Youth Championship and the Open Race can be disputed in relay format. The course for the swimming segment is located in the Praia das Rocas lagoon.

Age categories/divisions:
National Youth Championship (Super-Sprint): athletes born between 2010 and 2018, according to RTC.
Litoral & Interior Centro Absolute Championship (Sprint): licensed athletes born in 2009 or earlier.
Open Sprint: athletes born in 2009 or earlier, participating individually or in mixed/single-gender relays.
Start/finish locations: The event takes place at Praia das Rocas, in Castanheira de Pera. The start and finish lines are at Praia das Rocas.
Start times:
National Youth Championship: 11:00.
Absolute Championship: 17:00.
Open Race: 17:10.
Cut-off times: The regulations do not specify a general time limit for the race, but the time limit to collect equipment from the Transition Area is 15 minutes after the last athlete has finished.
Bib pick-up time and location: The race office will be in a tent next to Transition Park 2 (finish line). The hours are from 07:50 to 10:20 for the National Youth Championship and from 15:15 to 16:15 for the Absolute and Open Race.
Registration deadline:
National Youth Championship: September 1, 2025.
Absolute Championship and Open Race: September 8, 2025.
Surface types: The swimming is in the lagoon of Praia das Rocas, and the cycling and running courses are on good-condition asphalt with some elevation changes.
Course format: The Absolute and Open Races’ swimming segment has 2 laps and the running segment has 2 laps.
Timing method: An electronic chip will be used.
Toilets and aid station placement: There will be aid stations with solids and liquids at the finish line and in the recovery zone.
Prizes: Trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers in each category, age group, and team.
