Event summary
The Trail Capital da Abóbora 2025 will take place on 14 September in the parish of Soza, Vagos, Portugal. Organized by the Associação Tainadas Run Team and the Associação Desportiva e Cultural Sosense, with the support of the Vagos City Council, the event offers three main distances: the Long Trail (25 km), the Short Trail (15 km), and the 8 km Walk, all starting and finishing at the Estádio dos Lagos in Soza.
Open to both federated and non-federated participants, the race welcomes trail enthusiasts of all levels, with the Short Trail available to athletes aged 16–18 under parental consent. The Walk is accessible to participants of all ages, promoting community involvement and family participation.
The course features varied natural terrain with sections through rural and forest areas, complemented by a lively, community-driven atmosphere. The event also includes a Trail Kids run inside the venue on the day prior to the main races, as well as free babysitting services during the event morning — reinforcing its family-friendly spirit.

Long Trail (25 km) & Short Trail (15 km) – M/F Sub23 (<23), Senior (24–29), M/F30 (30–34), M/F35 (35–39), M/F40 (40–49), M/F50 (50–59), M/F60 (60+).
Walk (8 km) – open to all ages; minors accompanied by an adult.
Start/finish location: Estádio dos Lagos, Soza.
Schedule:
Saturday, 13 Sept: 16:00 secretariat opens; 17:00 Trail Kids; 20:00 secretariat closes.
Sunday, 14 Sept: 07:30 secretariat opens; 08:55 briefing (Trail & Walk); 09:00 Long Trail start; 09:20 Short Trail start; 09:30 Walk start; 12:00 refreshments/lunch; 13:30 awards; 17:00 event closes.
Cut-off times: Long Trail – 5h; Short Trail – 3h.
Bib pick-up: At Estádio dos Lagos – 13 Sept (16:00–20:00) and 14 Sept (07:30–start times).
Registration deadline: 7 September 2025 or until full.
Surface type: mixed rural and forest trails with small road sections.
Course format: looped trail routes, well-marked with ribbons, signs, and marshals.
Timing method: chip timing (RFID).
Aid stations: multiple along course + finish (solid and liquid supplies).
Other services: showers at the finish, medical support, and on-site bar service.
Prizes: medals for all Trail finishers; trophies for top 3 in each category.
