XIV Maratona BTT Cidade de Faro
The XIV Maratona BTT – Cidade de Faro returns on September 28, 2025, bringing the vibrant cycling spirit of the Algarve to the town of Estoi. More than just a race, it is part of the Faro Ativo program, combining sport, culture, and community in a unique event that gathers MTB enthusiasts from all over the region.
Participants will challenge themselves on two routes: the 55 km Marathon, with around 900 meters of elevation gain, designed for experienced riders looking for a demanding and competitive challenge, and the 35 km Half-Marathon, with 580 meters of elevation gain, ideal for those who prefer a shorter yet equally exciting course. Both distances also feature an E-Bike category, ensuring inclusivity and wider participation.
The event also celebrates the legacy of cycling in Faro with the João da Roda Trophy, a team classification honoring one of the pioneers of the sport in the region. With marked trails running through rural paths, municipal roads, and natural landscapes across Faro, Olhão, and São Brás de Alportel, athletes can expect not only a physical challenge but also breathtaking views of the Algarve’s countryside. Add in strong community spirit, post-race camaraderie, and the famous bifana sandwich at the finish line, and the Maratona BTT – Cidade de Faro guarantees an unforgettable BTT experience.
