    Al-Buhera X Route

    The Rota Al-Buhera X is a mountain bike marathon event taking place on Sunday, November 23, 2025, starting at 09:00 in Praça dos Pescadores, Albufeira, Faro district. This event offers four routes with different distances and technical and physical challenges, including 25 km (guided family ride), 40 km, 60 km, and a 70 km gravel route.

    The event is open to all participants aged 15 and over, with specific age restrictions for younger participants: those aged 16-19 can only participate in the 40 km route, and under 15 only in the 25 km family guided ride. E-Bikes are allowed on the 60 km route and have their own general classification prizes. The event is organized by Clube BTT Amizade de Albufeira and is part of the annual activity plan of the club.

    The race routes traverse roads, paths, and trails in the municipalities of Albufeira and Loulé, with marked courses and GPS navigation for the gravel route, offering varied terrain and scenic landscapes. The atmosphere combines competitive spirit with a community and family-friendly environment, including a guided family ride. Awards are given to the top three in overall and category classifications, with participation medals for the 25 km mini-marathon.

    Ride Across Portugal

    The 7th edition of Ride Across Portugal® takes place from May 10 to 17, 2026, offering an unforgettable 7-day road cycling adventure through the heart of Portugal. This exclusive stage event covers 770 km over 6 stages, showcasing the country’s diverse landscapes — from the northern mountains to the southern coastline.

    Combining sport, culture, and hospitality, the event attracts passionate cyclists from around the world. With first-class logistics, premium accommodation, and on-road support, Ride Across Portugal® is a non-competitive but timed experience ideal for serious amateur riders looking for a truly premium cycling journey.

    🏔️ Stage 1 – The Mountains and the Douro River
    📍 Douro – Guarda | 119KM | 2230m D+
    Begins on the world-famous N222 road through the scenic Douro Valley, ending in Guarda, the highest city in Portugal.

    🗻 Stage 2 – Conquering the Highest Point in Mainland Portugal
    📍 Guarda – Covilhã | 107KM | 2550m D+
    Climbs to Alto da Torre (1,993m), the highest point on mainland Portugal, followed by a stunning descent into Covilhã.

    🌄 Stage 3 – From the Mountains to the Lowlands
    📍 Covilhã – Alter do Chão | 165KM | 1730m D+
    Crosses into the Alentejo through scenic hills and the majestic Tagus River at Portas do Rodão. Ends at the historic Royal Stud Farm.

    🍷 Stage 4 – Alentejo, the Portuguese Tuscany
    📍 Alter do Chão – Évora | 96KM | 800m D+
    A cultural ride through cork oak-lined roads and wheat fields, ending in the UNESCO city of Évora.

    🔥 Stage 5 – The Super Stage
    📍 Évora – Monchique | 193KM | 1840m D+
    The longest and one of the most epic stages. Finishes with the climb to Monchique, entering the Algarve mountains.

    🌊 Stage 6 – The Mountain, the River, and the Ocean
    📍 Monchique – Porches | 57KM | 560m D+
    A celebratory stage with coastal views and a finish at the cliffside Chapel of Senhora da Rocha — the perfect end to this unforgettable journey.
