The Prova Aberta de Ciclismo – Concelho de Vendas Novas takes place on September 7, 2025, organized by Associação Desportiva Natura Trilhos with the support of the Municipality of Vendas Novas. This open cycling challenge is designed for teams of 5 to 7 riders, covering a 62 km course of medium/easy difficulty.
Starting from the Vendas Novas Town Hall parking area, the first team departs at 09:30, with others leaving in 3-minute intervals, creating a dynamic time-trial format. Team results are calculated from the sum of the three best finish times, using chip timing for accuracy.
Open to all cyclists and cycle tourists over 18 years old, the event combines competition, camaraderie, and road safety awareness. With prizes for the top five teams, full race support, and a friendly community spirit, it’s a highlight for cycling enthusiasts in the Alentejo region.
The Alcanena MTB Endurance 2025 is a 3-hour mountain bike challenge organized by the Núcleo de Cicloturismo de Alcanena. It takes place on Saturday, September 13, 2025, in the historic center of Alcanena, combining cobblestone streets, urban paths, and off-road trails. The goal? Complete as many laps as possible within the time limit.
Open to athletes aged 12 and up, both licensed and non-licensed, the event includes competitive rankings by age group, bike type (including E-Bike and Gravel), and gender. The route is unique for its urban mix and evening setting, as part of the race takes place at night — making front and rear lights mandatory.
Lousã Granfondo is a non-competitive cycling event held in Lousã, Portugal, on September 14, 2025. Designed for amateur and licensed cyclists alike, the event promotes open-road endurance cycling while timing overall completion and/or selected segments via chip. Participants can choose between three distances — Granfondo, Mediofondo, and Minifondo — each accommodating a variety of age groups and skill levels. The event adheres to regulations from the Portuguese Cycling Federation and UCI guidelines for open events. Only non-motorized bicycles are permitted, including road bikes, MTB, gravel, and tandems; e-bikes are allowed but ranked separately and not eligible for podiums. Athletes are grouped by age and gender, with podium prizes for top finishers in each category, plus team and fair-play awards. The race is chip-timed, and support includes mechanical assistance, feed stations, and emergency services. The course is held on open roads with mandatory traffic law compliance. All participants receive a finisher medal, digital diploma, photos, and a post-race meal.
