    Lousã Granfondo is a non-competitive cycling event held in Lousã, Portugal, on September 14, 2025. Designed for amateur and licensed cyclists alike, the event promotes open-road endurance cycling while timing overall completion and/or selected segments via chip. Participants can choose between three distances — Granfondo, Mediofondo, and Minifondo — each accommodating a variety of age groups and skill levels. The event adheres to regulations from the Portuguese Cycling Federation and UCI guidelines for open events. Only non-motorized bicycles are permitted, including road bikes, MTB, gravel, and tandems; e-bikes are allowed but ranked separately and not eligible for podiums. Athletes are grouped by age and gender, with podium prizes for top finishers in each category, plus team and fair-play awards. The race is chip-timed, and support includes mechanical assistance, feed stations, and emergency services. The course is held on open roads with mandatory traffic law compliance. All participants receive a finisher medal, digital diploma, photos, and a post-race meal.

    Beyond the ride itself, the Rota is known for its community spirit. Participants can look forward to a convivial lunch, gifts, and a welcoming atmosphere, while teams with 4 or more cyclists receive a commemorative trophy.

  • TAVIRA GRANFONDO

    TAVIRA GRANFONDO

    The Tavira Granfondo is a non-competitive cycling event that will take place on September 28, 2025, in Tavira, Portugal. Designed to be inclusive and accessible to all cycling enthusiasts, it features three distances: Granfondo (approx. 135 km), Mediofondo (approx. 95 km), and Minifondo (approx. 55 km). Participants must be at least 19 years old for the Granfondo and 17 for the Mediofondo and Minifondo. The event is organized as a leisure ride on open public roads and complies with the Portuguese Cycling Federation's guidelines for “Provas Abertas” (Open Races), as well as the national traffic code. It highlights Tavira’s scenic beauty and cultural richness, making it a blend of sport, tourism, and local tradition. Although not competitive, electronic chip timing and rankings will be used. Trophies will be awarded in several individual and team categories, including special awards for paracycling.

    The event starts and finishes at Avenida Zeca Afonso in Tavira. After an initial controlled 3 km segment, participants proceed at free pace. All riders are required to wear an approved helmet and follow traffic laws at all times. Participants may use road bikes, mountain bikes, tandem, or hand bikes, but electric bikes are not permitted. The organization provides a welcoming environment, technical support, mechanical aid, aid stations, and a post-race lunch.
