The event offers three distance options: Standard (25.5 km total with 4.78 km swimming and 20.72 km running), Sprint (15.1 km total with 2.7 km swimming and 12.4 km running), and Experience (8.1 km total with 1.5 km swimming and 6.6 km running). The course traverses the trails of the Seven Hanging Valleys, famous as the best hiking destination in Europe, and includes iconic beaches, caves accessible only by sea, and remarkable natural formations along the way.

The Penacova Swimrun is a swimrun race held in the beautiful natural surroundings of Penacova, located in the center of Portugal. The event showcases stunning trails along the Mondego River, including highlights such as Praia do Reconquinho, Penedo do Castro viewpoint, Emídio da Silva viewpoint, and the iconic Livraria do Mondego.
The race offers two distance formats: Standard with a total distance of 25.4 km (3.2 km swim and 22.2 km run) and Sprint with a total distance of 16.3 km (2 km swim and 14.3 km run). The Madeira Swimrun is an annual swimrun race held on the island of Madeira, known as the “Pearl of the Atlantic.” This event offers a unique challenge combining swimming and running, with a course that starts offshore at Ponta de São Lourenço and finishes in the city of Machico.
The race features two main distances: the Standard with a total of 25.510 km (3.360 km swimming and 22.150 km running) and the Sprint with a total of 11.380 km (2.230 km swimming and 9.150 km running). Both formats include multiple transitions and significant elevation gain, challenging participants with diverse trails and sea crossings.
Open to all athletes, the race is organized locally by the Ludens Machico club with support from the Madeira Regional Triathlon Association.
