    Estrela Road Challenge

    The Estrela Road Challenge returns to the stunning Serra da Estrela mountains on October 18–19, 2025, offering a unique and challenging road running experience through Portugal’s highest mountain range. With breathtaking landscapes and a true mountain environment, this event promotes environmental sustainability, solidarity, and athletic ethics.

    Participants can choose from three events:

    Uphill (21 km) – A grueling climb with 1600 m of elevation gain finishing at the Torre.

    Uphill + Downhill (42 km) – Full marathon distance with 3200 m total elevation change.

    Relay Team (42 km) – Same marathon course in teams of up to 3 athletes.

    Open to runners aged 18 and older, the Estrela Road Challenge fosters a spirit of resilience, camaraderie, and connection to nature. This is not just a race — it’s a journey through the heart of the Serra.

  • Lisbon Marathon

    Lisbon Marathon

    The EDP Lisbon Marathon 2025 is a marathon race taking place on October 25, 2025, starting at Estrada N6-7 in Carcavelos and finishing at Praça do Comércio in Lisbon.

    The race covers the full marathon distance of 42 kilometers and is open to all runners, attracting both elite international athletes and thousands of participants from around the world.

  • Maratona do Porto

    Maratona do Porto

    The EDP Porto Marathon 2025 takes place on November 2, 2025, starting at Sea Life Porto and finishing at the Queimódromo, next to Parque da Cidade. Organized by Runporto.com with the support of the Porto City Council and key sporting institutions, the event is one of the most prestigious and scenic marathons in Portugal.

    The program features three distances: the classic Marathon (42.195 km), the EDP 10K, and the APO 6K Walk, making it an event open to elite athletes, recreational runners, and families. With an international field of more than 15,000 participants, the Porto Marathon offers a world-class running experience along the Atlantic coast and through the heart of Porto.

  • Grifo24h

    Grifo24h

    The GRIFO24h is an endurance running event taking place on November 15-16, 2025, at the Unidade de Intervenção da GNR in Lisbon. This unique race offers multiple long-duration running options including 24-hour, 12-hour, 3-hour races, and a Night Marathon.

    Distances are based on laps of a certified 2,320-meter closed circuit featuring mostly asphalt and some dirt paths. The event welcomes individual runners and teams, with categories for male, female, and mixed teams, making it accessible to a broad range of endurance athletes.

    GRIFO24h is part of the National 24-Hour Race Circuit 2025 and supports a charitable cause, requiring participants to donate non-perishable food items that will be distributed to families in need. The race atmosphere combines competitive spirit with solidarity and community engagement.

    Gerês Extreme Marathon

    The Gerês Extreme Marathon 2025 takes place on December 5–7, 2025, in Portugal’s only national park, the Peneda-Gerês. Organized by Carlos Sá Nature Events® with the support of the Municipality of Terras de Bouro, the event combines mountain road running, extreme endurance, and breathtaking natural landscapes.

    Athletes can choose from seven distances: Extreme 90k, Marathon 42 km, 32 km, Half Marathon 21 km, 14 km, the new Race 12 km, and the Extreme Mile. The courses feature asphalted mountain roads and dirt tracks, mixing long climbs, sharp descents, and panoramic views.

    The event emphasizes sustainability and respect for nature, with semi-self-sufficiency rules, no plastic bottles or cups, and an optional carbon offset tree-planting contribution.

    24 Hours Running from Mem Martins – Sintra

    The VII Edition of the 24 Hours Running Mem Martins – Sintra is a long-duration endurance running event that will take place on May 9 and 10, 2026, in Mem Martins, Sintra. The event features multiple race options including 24-hour, 12-hour, and 3-hour races, as well as a Night Marathon, all held on a certified closed-loop circuit of 1,609.34 meters.

    Open to individual athletes and teams (for the 24-hour race), this competition welcomes both federated and non-federated runners aged 18 and above. The courses offer a unique combination of asphalt, dirt, and wooden boardwalk surfaces within the scenic Parque da Bacia de Retenção de Águas do Algueirão, creating a distinct and varied terrain for participants.
