    Estrela Road Challenge

    The Estrela Road Challenge returns to the stunning Serra da Estrela mountains on October 18–19, 2025, offering a unique and challenging road running experience through Portugal’s highest mountain range. With breathtaking landscapes and a true mountain environment, this event promotes environmental sustainability, solidarity, and athletic ethics.

    Participants can choose from three events:

    Uphill (21 km) – A grueling climb with 1600 m of elevation gain finishing at the Torre.

    Uphill + Downhill (42 km) – Full marathon distance with 3200 m total elevation change.

    Relay Team (42 km) – Same marathon course in teams of up to 3 athletes.

    Open to runners aged 18 and older, the Estrela Road Challenge fosters a spirit of resilience, camaraderie, and connection to nature. This is not just a race — it’s a journey through the heart of the Serra.

  • Maratona do Porto

    Maratona do Porto

    The Porto Marathon 2025 takes place on November 2, starting near SEA LIFE Porto and finishing at the Queimódromo in Porto’s City Park. One of Portugal’s largest running events, it features three races to suit a variety of participants:
    Marathon (42.195KM) – open to all runners born in 2005 or earlier
    EDP 10K (10KM) – open to runners born in 2007 or earlier
    APO 6K (6KM Walk) – non-competitive, open to all ages
    The event is organised by Runporto, with support from the Porto City Council, Portuguese Athletics Federation, and other local authorities.

  • Gerês Extreme Marathon

    Gerês Extreme Marathon

    The Gerês Extreme Marathon 2025 takes place from December 5 to 7 in the stunning setting of Peneda-Gerês National Park, Portugal’s only national park. Organized by Carlos Sá Nature Events, this three-day event blends road and trail running across a variety of distances — from a scenic night run to the grueling 90KM Extreme Ultra. Athletes of all levels are welcome to take on the challenge and experience the raw beauty of Gerês.

  • Maratona do Funchal

    Maratona do Funchal

    The Funchal Marathon 2026, taking place on January 18th in the beautiful city of Funchal, Madeira Island, offers an exciting and inclusive running experience for athletes of all levels. Organized by the Madeira Athletics Association, the event includes three distances: the full Marathon (42.195 km), Half Marathon (21.097 km), and a shorter, more accessible Mini Marathon (~8.3 km). Open to both amateur and competitive runners—whether you're a first-timer or an experienced marathoner—this race showcases the island’s mild winter climate and scenic urban coastline.

    The course weaves through the vibrant streets of Funchal, providing a mix of sea views, historic architecture, and enthusiastic local support. With a festive and welcoming atmosphere, pace guides for key finish times, and excellent support services, the event is well-suited for personal records, group challenges, or simply enjoying a memorable running experience in one of Portugal’s most charming destinations.
