    XI TRAIL MONTES SALOIOS

    The XI Trail Montes Saloios will take place on 15 February 2026 in Covas de Ferro, Sintra, with all event operations centralized at the Pavilhão Gimnodesportivo da Liga dos Amigos de Covas de Ferro (secretariat, start, and finish). Organized by Motoclube TT Montes Saloios with the support of Faz-te aos Trilhos, the event welcomes both competitive athletes and walkers.

    Participants can choose between the Trail Longo 29 km, Trail Curto 15 km, Minitrail 10 km, and a 10 km Walk. The 29 km and 15 km distances also include the special couples’ classification “Amor nos Montes.” Competitive races are chip-timed, while the walk is non-timed.

    The day is marked by a festive and community spirit, with semi-autonomy between aid stations, scenic off-road routes, and plenty of post-race celebrations. With prizes for runners, walkers, teams, couples, and even costumes, the Montes Saloios promises both competition and fun.

    STUT-Santo Thyrso Ultra Trilhos 2026

    The STUT-Santo Thyrso Ultra Trilhos 2026 is a trail running event taking place on February 14 and 15, 2026, in Santo Tirso, Portugal. It features multiple race distances catering to a range of participants: Ultra (44 km), Long (32 km), Short (17 km), and a 10 km Walk. There is also a dedicated Kids Trail event on February 14 with distances tailored for children aged 5 to 17 years.

    Runners of all levels can choose from ultra-endurance challenges to short trail and walking options, all across the wild limestone landscape of the Sicó Mountains, rich in Roman history and natural beauty.

    TAUT – Terras do Ancião Ultra Trail

    TAUT – Território Ansiano Ultra Trail returns from February 26–28, 2026, in Ansião, Portugal, offering one of the most diverse and demanding trail events in the country. With eight race distances ranging from 12 km to 150 miles, this is a festival of endurance, scenery, and community for athletes of all levels.

    TAUT is more than a race — it’s a journey through ancient trails, Roman roads, river crossings, and historical villages across the Serra de Sicó region. Whether you’re a trail newcomer or a seasoned ultra runner, there’s a challenge tailored to your spirit and skill.

    This event is part of the Circuito Nacional de Trail Ultra Endurance (CNUTE), and several distances are ITRA certified, offering UTMB index points. There’s also a team challenge, youth categories, and inclusive policies to welcome a diverse participant base.

  • PALEOZOIC TRAIL

    PALEOZOIC TRAIL

    The Trilhos do Paleozóico 2026 is a trail running event scheduled for March 8, 2026, in Valongo, Portugal, within the Paleozoic Park of Valongo and the Valongo Trail Center. The race features multiple distances: Trail Ultra 48 km, Trail 38 km, Trail Sprint 23 km, Mini Trail 12 km, and a 12 km walking event, the latter two also part of the Valongo Trail Circuit.

    The event welcomes participants aged 18 and older for the longer distances, while the Mini Trail is open to those 15 and older, and the walk allows minors accompanied by an adult. The race is characterized by challenging elevation profiles, with positive elevation gains ranging from 300 m in the Mini Trail to approximately 2600 m in the Ultra Trail.     Povoação Trail

    The Povoação Trail returns for its 6th edition on March 15, 2026, in the breathtaking region of Povoação, São Miguel Island (Azores). This nature-based event features four distances — Trail Ultra (50 km), Trail (30 km), Trail Sprint (15 km), and a non-competitive 9 km hike — offering something for every level of trail runner.

    Runners will navigate technical, scenic trails, including forests, agricultural paths, streams, and mountain slopes, with significant elevation gain (up to D+3500). The Ultra and main Trail events are designed for experienced athletes, while the Sprint and Walk provide accessible options for newcomers.

    Organized by HL Runners Club in partnership with the Municipality of Povoação, this event offers a supportive and adventurous atmosphere. It’s also part of the local São Miguel Trail Circuit and may contribute to the ATRP national ranking.

    Farol Adventure Trail

    The Farol Adventure Trail – Flores Azores (FAT) returns on 25 April 2026, offering runners an unforgettable journey across the dramatic landscapes of Flores Island, Azores. Starting from the iconic Farol do Albarnaz and finishing at Farol da Ponta das Lajes, the event showcases lush valleys, coastal cliffs, volcanic formations, and waterfalls such as Poço do Bacalhau and Poço do Ferreiro.

    This is more than a race—it’s an immersion into the island’s natural beauty and cultural heritage, passing through all parishes in the municipality of Lajes das Flores. Certified by the Associação de Trail Running de Portugal (ATRP), FAT is part of the National Trail Circuit, attracting both competitive trail athletes and nature enthusiasts.
