    UTAX – AXtrail Series 2025

    UTAX – AXtrail Series is the main event of the AXtrail® circuit and one of the toughest mountain ultramarathons in Portugal. The 2025 edition takes place from October 17 to 19, based in Castanheira de Pera, covering the most iconic trails of the Lousã Mountain Range, including schist villages, sharp ridges, and deep valleys.
    The event offers five official formats, including the iconic UTAX 107KM night start, and a hike open to all fitness levels.

  • Ultra X Madeira

    Ultra X Madeira

    The Ultra X Madeira 2025 will be held on November 1–2, 2025, across the stunning trails of Madeira Island, Portugal. Organized by Ultra X, the event offers four race options ranging from 25 km to 110 km, all providing athletes with the chance to experience Madeira’s rugged mountains, coastline, and volcanic landscapes.

    The flagship event is the 110 km two-day ultra, divided into a 60 km stage (Saturday) starting in Machico and a 50 km stage (Sunday) starting in São Vicente, with overnight camp provided for participants. Single-stage races include the 60 km, 50 km, and 25 km options.

    With generous cut-off times, UTMB® index qualification (100K, 50K, 25K), and international participation, Ultra X Madeira is a true test of endurance that combines sport with the natural and cultural beauty of the island.

    EPICX AZORES by Decathlon

    The EPIC X 2025 is a demanding mountain trail challenge designed for athletes who thrive in endurance and adventure. Set in a rugged natural landscape, the event offers technical single tracks, steep ascents, and breathtaking views that make the effort worthwhile. With multiple distances available, runners can choose between shorter but still challenging courses or dive into the ultra-distance adventure that tests both physical strength and mental resilience.

    Beyond the competitive spirit, the event is built around camaraderie, sustainability, and respect for nature. Each participant is expected to run in semi-autonomy, carrying essential gear and relying on aid stations strategically placed along the route. Whether aiming for a podium finish or simply completing the course, every athlete will experience the raw spirit of trail running that defines EPIC X.

  • Gerês Extreme Marathon

    Gerês Extreme Marathon

    The Gerês Extreme Marathon 2025 takes place on December 5–7, 2025, in Portugal’s only national park, the Peneda-Gerês. Organized by Carlos Sá Nature Events® with the support of the Municipality of Terras de Bouro, the event combines mountain road running, extreme endurance, and breathtaking natural landscapes.

    Athletes can choose from seven distances: Extreme 90k, Marathon 42 km, 32 km, Half Marathon 21 km, 14 km, the new Race 12 km, and the Extreme Mile. The courses feature asphalted mountain roads and dirt tracks, mixing long climbs, sharp descents, and panoramic views.

    The event emphasizes sustainability and respect for nature, with semi-self-sufficiency rules, no plastic bottles or cups, and an optional carbon offset tree-planting contribution.

  • Terra de Gigantes

    Terra de Gigantes

    The Terra de Gigantes Ultramarathon 2026 will be held from January 15–18, 2026, starting at 11:00 AM from Torre, Serra da Estrela — Portugal’s highest point — and finishing in Nazaré, home of the world’s biggest waves. Organized by Horizontes Turismo Desportivo and Associação Interior Convida, the race challenges athletes with an epic 303.8 km journey across Portugal, combining extreme distance, harsh winter conditions, and significant elevation gain.

    The route traverses mountain ranges, historic villages, faith paths near Fátima, and remote schist and xisto trails, before culminating on the Atlantic coast. With 74 hours to complete the challenge and semi-self-sufficiency rules, this is a true test of endurance, courage, and resilience.

    Trail de Conímbriga Terras de Sicó

    Celebrating 16 years of adventure and heritage, the Trail de Conímbriga Terras de Sicó returns for its 17th edition with seven races over three days — including the epic 111 Milhas Terras de Sicó, a qualifying race for Western States 2027.

    Runners of all levels can choose from ultra-endurance challenges to short trail and walking options, all across the wild limestone landscape of the Sicó Mountains, rich in Roman history and natural beauty.
