Saint Sylvester Chaves
The São Silvestre Chaves is a running and walking event taking place on December 27, 2025, in Chaves, Portugal. The event features a 10 km race for federated and non-federated athletes born in 2006 or earlier, and a 7 km walk open to the general population. Both courses are marked and held in an urban environment, starting and finishing at Praça General Silveira.
The race is open to all participants without any license requirement, with a limit of 500 participants for each event. The event is organized by the Municipality of Chaves with support from the Associação de Atletismo de Vila Real, ensuring professional management and accurate timing using electronic chips. The atmosphere is inclusive, encouraging community participation with free registration and a family-friendly walking option.
Participants will experience a well-supported urban course with two hydration points during the race and water available at the start of the walk.
